Cookie Policy

1. About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how Dark Horse S&P uses cookies and similar technologies on darkhorsestrength.ie. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Our use of cookies is governed by the Irish ePrivacy Regulations 2011 (S.I. 336/2011) and the GDPR.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, and tracking scripts. They are used to keep a site working, remember preferences, and measure how people use a site.

3. The categories we use

3.1 Strictly necessary

These are required for the website to work. They do not need consent under the ePrivacy Regulations. At present this category covers basic browser storage used to load the site and any session cookies set by our host for security.

3.2 Marketing

We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and to reach similar audiences. We may also use the Meta Conversions API for the same purpose, operating on the same consent. These cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner.

4. Cookies that are set when consent is given

The table below lists the cookies used on this site. None of these are set until you give consent through our cookie banner.

Name Set by Purpose Typical lifetime
_fbp Meta (Facebook) Pixel Identifies browsers for ad delivery and measurement 3 months
_fbc Meta (Facebook) Pixel Stores the click identifier when a user arrives from a Facebook ad 2 years

5. Third-party services on this page

Some services we use can set their own cookies or read identifiers when their content loads. The current third parties are:

  • Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited). The map on our homepage is gated behind a click-to-load button: nothing is loaded from Google until you tap "Show map". Once loaded, the map embed may set cookies for map functionality, personalisation, and abuse prevention. See Google's cookie policy.
  • Google Fonts (Google Ireland Limited). Fonts are served from Google's content delivery network. Google may log technical request information such as your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

6. Legal basis

Under the Irish ePrivacy Regulations 2011, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. All other cookies and tracking technologies require your specific, informed, prior consent before they are set. We rely on consent under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR for non-essential cookies. Consent is just as easy to withdraw as it is to give.

7. How to manage cookies

Our cookie banner lets you accept, reject, or fine-tune your preferences. You can change your mind at any time by clicking the "Manage cookies" link in the footer of any page.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block cookies, delete existing ones, or warn you before a cookie is stored. Help pages for the main browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

8. Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing is as easy as giving it: click the "Manage cookies" link in the footer of any page and reject the categories you no longer want. Any cookies in a category you remove will be cleared.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example when we add new tools. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Where the change is material we will ask for fresh consent through the cookie banner.

10. Contact

If you have any questions about cookies on our site, please contact us at info@darkhorsestrength.ie or by post at 17 Main Street (Rear of), Bray, Co. Wicklow, A98 Y5R3, Ireland.
